DEF LEPPARD Frontman Performs With RICKY WARWICK In Dublin; Video Available

Irish songwriter and THE ALMIGHTY frontman Ricky Warwick was joined on stage at his April 5, 2009 show at Whelans in Dublin by Joe Elliott of DEF LEPPARD. They jammed on "Three Sides To Every Story" from Ricky's Joe Elliott-produced "Tattoos & Alibis" 2003 solo debut.

Ricky's new solo album, "Belfast Confetti", will be released on April 27 via DR2.

Born in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, Ricky received his first guitar at the tender age of 14. "That old, used guitar was more than just notes on a fretboard, it was the deepest breath of life I'd ever experienced," he said. "I felt like I was armed when I carried it and from then on I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Nothing was ever going to be the same again once I dragged my thumb across those strings."

Despite the fact that he was the founding member of Glasgow heavy metal band THE ALMIGHTY and stints in various other punk outfits, including STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, THE RUTS and NEW MODEL ARMY, Ricky brazenly embarked on an acoustic solo career in 2002.

"Belfast Confetti" is a collection of gritty acoustic songs, full of passion, dirt, whisky and tales of a misspent youth in the land of the Emerald Isle.

Ricky reflects: "I found myself looking deeper into the well for this record. Each song is not unlike a prayer. 'Belfast Confetti' is a collection of stories, my own, my family's and my friends, most of whom are now scattered all over the world, but when talk turns to home, their eyes light up and the reminiscing begins."

Ricky is planning to hit the road for a full touring schedule as soon as "Belfast Confetti" hits the shelves. However, even after sharing the stage with groups such as ALICE IN CHAINS, THE RAMONES, METALLICA, CHEAP TRICK, LYNYRD SKYNYRD and DEF LEPPARD over the many years, Ricky has earned his salt engaging large crowds with performances that are captivating and intimate, leaving his fans feeling truly connected to his music.
