DEF LEPPARD, WHITESNAKE, JOURNEY To Team Up For Dublin Date

February 23, 2009

DEF LEPPARD, WHITESNAKE and JOURNEY will team up for a special concert at O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland on Friday, June 12. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, February 27 at 9 a.m. from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.

DEF LEPPARD and POISON will team up for a U.S. summer tour, including a rumored appearance at this year's Rocklahoma festival, which is set to take place July 9-12, 2009 on the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds in Pryor, Oklahoma.

DEF LEPPARD's newest album, "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge", debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200. The band's ninth studio CD contains 11 new songs, including "Nine Lives", featuring a collaboration with country music superstar Tim McGraw.

"Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" was DEF LEPPARD's 11th consecutive Top 20 album in the U.S. According to Billboard.com, the band started its Top 20 streak on The Billboard 200 back with 1983's "Pyromania" when it peaked at No. 2. Since "Pyromania", every DEF LEPPARD album has reached the Top 20.

WHITESNAKE's appearance at U.K.'s Download festivla in early June will coincide with action-packed re-releases of the multi-platinum albums "Slip Of The Tongue", marking its 20th anniversary, and "Slide It In", which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. A special edition of the band's 2008 album "Good To Be Bad", featuring bonus tracks, will be released around the same time.

WHITESNAKE singer David Coverdale said that in these uncertain times, when it is economically difficult for some people to get to see rock shows in their major cities, then it is the responsibility of the artist to take their music to the people, and that's what WHITESNAKE intends to do before undertaking a major North American tour in summer.
