DEFTONES Singer Says He Feels Lucky To Be Touring With METALLICA

July 21, 2003

T'cha Dunlevy of the Montreal Gazette is reporting that "celebration was in the air as METALLICA's Summer Sanitarium tour rolled into Parc Jean Drapeau yesterday (July 20). For music that is supposedly dark and angry, there were an awful lot of smiles going around.

" 'You guys are f--king amazing,' LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington gushed toward the end of his band's late-afternoon set. 'I got f--king goosebumps.'

MUDVAYNE, DEFTONES and LIMP BIZKIT were the other bands on the bill. And while each act held its own — getting impressively enthusiastic responses from the massive crowd — METALLICA was clearly the main attraction.

The day's fashion statement was an array of METALLICA T-shirts. And one by one, each group paid respect to the headliner.

" 'I have to say, I feel pretty f--king lucky to be sharing the stage with METALLICA,' said DEFTONES vocalist Chino Moreno. The second act on the bill, his band played a hard, driving, no-frills set." Read more.
