DEFTONES: Tonight's Show In Portsmouth Postponed

March 19, 2007

DEFTONES have been forced to postpone tonight's (March 19) concert in Portsmouth, United Kingdom due to "illness" (reportedly on the part of the group's frontman Chino Moreno). This marks the second show in a row that the DEFTONES have called off as a result of their singer's inability to perform. The Portsmouth gig has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 15, according to the venue's (Guildhall) web site.

In other news, Launch Radio Networks reports that DEFTONES will begin a new U.S. tour on May 10 in Phoenix, with the two-month trek expected to last through July 9. According to HardDrive Radio, the route will take the band through the four corner states, into Texas, then up to the Midwest and East Coast before hitting the Midwest again and finishing down the West Coast. Dates and venues should be announced soon. The California-based group has just released "Mein" as the second single from its fifth album, "Saturday Night Wrist", which arrived this past October.

The DEFTONES were also featured on the "Family Values Tour 2006" CD and DVD, which both came out in December.

Bassist Chi Cheng has contributed two poems to a new collection called "Revolution on Canvas, Volume 2: Poetry from the Indie Music Scene". The book is due out on May 9.

Moreno and DEFTONES turntablist/keyboardist Frank Delgado will be IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson's guests on Saturday, March 24 during Bruce's weekly BBC 6 Music radio show, aptly named "Rock Show". Listen to the program live via the Internet between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) U.K. time (between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. EST) at BBC.co.uk.

The show is available all week via the "Radio Player" / "Listen Again" feature on the 6 Musicwebpage, so no matter what you're doing Saturday you'll still be able to hear the guys rockin' on with the Bruce for a whole seven days.
