DELAIN: 'April Rain' To Receive North American Release In June

April 2, 2009

"April Rain", the new album from DELAIN — the Dutch gothic rock/metal project founded by ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of WITHIN TEMPTATION's Robert Westerholt) — will be released in North America on June 30 via Sensory Records (with U.S. distribution through Ryko and Canadian distribution through Sonic Unyon). The North American version of the CD will feature a bonus track — "Come Closer" — which was previously only available on the limited-edition digipack version of the album.

"April Rain" is available for streaming in its entirety at RoadrunnerRecords.de. The CD follows DELAIN's acclaimed 2006 debut "Lucidity", which featured guest appearances by members of WITHIN TEMPTATION, NIGHTWISH and LEAVES' EYES.

"The new album is a real group effort, [and] that's what we're most proud of," says Westerholt.

"April Rain" track listing:

01. April Rain

The "April Rain" video can be viewed below. The band says, "We recorded the video in Serbia and used a green screen. It turned out to be a pretty awesome video and we hope you like it."

"April Rain" benefits from the return of NIGHTWISH bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala who sings male vocals on two tracks, as well as world-renowned cellist Maria Ahn.
