DESPISED ICON Prepare For MONSTERS OF MAYHEM Tour

August 24, 2006

On September 1, the Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON will embark on the massive Monsters of Mayhem tour, which features HATEBREED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, NAPALM DEATH, EXODUS and FIRST BLOOD. This is the group's sixth tour in support of their highly acclaimed album, "The Healing Process", which is a relentless slab of sheer aggression matched with impeccable time changes that quickly raised the bar for their peers. They completed a very successful run on the Monsters of Chaos tour with MORBID ANGEL and labelmates BEHEMOTH and KRISIUN this past spring and look to further establish their position as one of the genre's most devastating new acts with this upcoming trek.

DESPISED ICON shot a video for the track "The Sunset Will Never Charm Us" with acclaimed director Jean-Philippe Bernier (A PERFECT MURDER) and you can check it out at this location (Windows Media).

Alex Erian (vocals) comments: "We can't wait to hit the road again and tour with HATEBREED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, NAPALM DEATH, EXODUS and FIRST BLOOD. This tour is seriously a dream come true for us. It will be our sixth tour in support of 'The Healing Process' and most likely will be our last one this year, so make sure you show up early to check out our set. Our last show this year will be at the Saints and Sinners fest in NJ with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, A LIFE ONCE LOST, FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW and more. We're almost done writing our next album and will start the recording process in January. Expect to hear our fastest blast beats and our heaviest breakdowns ever."
