DESTINY Announce New Guitarist
April 4, 2006Long-running Swedish metallers DESTINY have found a replacement for the departed Janne Ekberg in former member Floyd Constantin, who played on the band's second album, "Atomic Winter", and was a member of DESTINY between 1986 and 1988. Before joining DESTINY the first time, Floyd was an original KING DIAMOND member but was replaced by Andy La Rocque before the first KING DIAMOND album was completed.
Commented the band in a statement: "Since leaving DESTINY he and the band lost contact until we (Floyd Constantin and Stefan Björnshög) bumped into each other a couple of years ago in Jönköping, Sweden. The next time we talked was last year when I called Floyd to ask his permission to add one of his unreleased DESTINY songs as a bonus track for the re-recording of 'Atomic Winter'. Floyd agreed and was invited to take part in the whole re-recording project that will take place later this year. After this we kept in contact and when Janne left the band both Floyd and I was interested in getting together again to see if the old magic still was there. When the Tony Martin gigs was offered we decided that this was the right time to stop talking and start playing and here we are."
