DESTRUCTION Announces North American Headlining Tour

January 4, 2011

German thrash metal veterans DESTRUCTION will embark on a North American headlining tour in April/May with support from Australia's DESTROYER 666.

Commented DESTRUCTION bassist/vocalist Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer: "It feels fantastic to return to North American shores for the first time after our return to Nuclear Blast with a new album as brutal as 'Day Of Reckoning' on our backs. This is the strongest material we have written since [2001's] 'The Antichrist' and we are burning to present these shredding songs and introduce our new 6.6-foot-tall drum animal Vaaver [INDUKTI, ex-UNSUN] live! Of course, all the DESTRUCTION classics will be there; we know what our faithful fans want and we will serve them well! You will feel the force of the strongest lineup we have ever had. Experience the true power and the rigorous precision of German thrash metal live this spring! Can't fuckin' wait!"

A brand new DESTRUCTION track entitled "The Price" has been posted on the band's MySpace page. Schmier states, "This song expresses the spirit of 'Day Of Reckoning' at its best: faster, more raw, and tighter. One of my favorite tracks on the album because you can feel the fire and the joy of playing! The band feels the old-school aggression again and this song is like a rocket: UN-FUCKIN'-STOPPABLE!"

DESTRUCTION filmed a video for the song "Hate Is My Fuel" on Friday, December 31 at the Headbangersball Silvester Festival in Burgdorf, Switzerland. Berlin, Germany's Roax Films is producing the clip, which will be released in early February.
