DETONATION To Headline India's AVALANCHE Festival

January 11, 2008

Dutch melodic thrashers DETONATION will headline the Avalanche festival in Delhi, India on February 22. Avalanche is the heavy-music portion of the four-day cultural Moksha festival, an annual event organized at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (N.S.I.T.).

Commented the band: "Up to now, India hasn't been the most obvious choice for metal bands to tour. Past few years, however, the Indian metal scene has been growing rapidly with a new breed a quality metal bands emerging, and with renowned international acts as MEGADETH, IRON MAIDEN and SEPULTURA announcing tours to India. We're very excited to be among the first wave of international metal acts to play Indian and very proud to be the first heavy Dutch act ever to do so".

DETONATION recently posted video footage of the band performing the song "Into Sulphur I Descend" live at the Heavy X-Mass Fest at 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands on December 23, 2007. View the clip below.

DETONATION's latest effort, "Emission Phase", was released on April 30, 2007. The CD was recorded with Split Second Sound's Jochem Jacobs (also guitar player for TEXTURES) and Bouke Visser. The cover artwork was created by Eliran Kantor.

"Emission Phase" is DETONATION's third and final album for French underground label Osmose Productions.
