DEVILDRIVER Frontman Checks In From Europe
June 28, 2006DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara has posted the following message on the band's official MySpace profile:
"I'm sitting in the bus at Graspop festival in Belgium. It's pouring rain outside, and we just played. The pit was MASSIVE. Needless to say, we destroyed the place. Thanks go out to the fans in Belgium for their intensity. It was a pleasure to play for you.
"DEVILDRIVER has been in a whirlwind of touring. We have been going nonstop. The headliner went amazing. Thanks to all who came out in force to support The Burning Daylight Tour! 29 shows in 30 days!!! Then it was off to Europe.
"Highlights would definitely be playing Download [festival in the U.K.] TWICE! John Davis from KORN became ill, and a few of the singers from the festival received the chance to play with KORN in front of a hundred thousand people or more. The experience was INSANE...
"I've known the KORN guys for over ten years and it was an honor and a pleasure to help them give the kids that day a show.
"John, please get well, buddy. We are all throwing positive thoughts your way.
"The crowds at the festivals as well as the few headliners we've done have all been great. Thanks for coming out.
"We are doing a few more festivals, then it's home for a long-needed break to see family and loved ones. Next up will be… VENOM!! This will be a show NOT to be missed!!! Only eight days in the U.S. and DEVILDRIVER will be main support!!! After that it's off to Australia, New Zealand, home then we set our sites on Mexico City, and Brazil!"
DEVILDRIVER's sophomore album, "The Fury of Our Maker's Hand", entered Billboard's Heatseeker's chart at No. 1. It also debuted at No. 117 on Billboard's Top 200 album charts and No. 17 on the Top Hard Rock chart. Additionally, the album soared to No. 1 on the Metal/College Radio and Specialty charts.
