DEVILDRIVER Frontman To Record Benefit Song For Cancer-Stricken Sister

July 13, 2012

DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara has announced plans to record a benefit song for his sister Kerri, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. He writes on Twitter, "[I'm] not gonna sit and do nothing while my sister faces down cancer… [I'm going to] record a song and put it on iTunes to help her kids." He later added in another tweet, "Within three hours, I've got a pro producer, a pro mixer and a handful of musicians willing to contribute to my sister's song!"

As previously reported, DEVILDRIVER bassist Aaron "Bubble" Patrick has been sitting out the band's recent tour dates after being diagnosed with Streptococcus pneumonia, an inflammation and swelling of the lung, caused by an infection with the bacteria. Filling in for Patrick has been his former BURY YOUR DEAD bandmate Chris Towning.

DEVILDRIVER recently inked a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. The band's next album is tentatively scheduled for a release in 2013.
