DEVOLVED Signs With UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS

Australian/American tech-metallers DEVOLVED have inked a deal with Unique Leader Records.

Commented the band: "We are very proud to announce that we have officially joined forces with extreme metal 'label giants,' Unique Leader! All of us in DEVOLVED have been longtime fans of Unique Leader Records and many of the bands they have worked with since the label began. So we are honored to become part of such a respected force in the metal industry. UL owner Erik has been at the forefront of the extreme music scene for some time now, both as a musician and label owner, so we look forward to working with him to take DEVOLVED to the next level and onward to the metal masses! We definitely bring our own sound and style to the UL roster, and we are looking forward to the challenge of taking both the band and label forward to new territories within the metal scene.

"Unique Leader will officially release our 'Calculated' album worldwide on August 25. The CD is currently being mixed by famed producer/engineer Neil Kernon (CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, NEVERMORE, DEICIDE, JUDAS PRIEST) and mastered by Alan Douches (SEPULTURA, UNEARTH, SHADOWS FALL, HATEBREED, GOD FORBID). This will also be our first CD to feature vocalist Kyle Zemanek. The release of 'Calculated' will be followed up with extensive touring throughout the USA and internationally. We will also be recording a second album with Unique Leader which will be set for a 2010 release."

DEVOLVED will be touring the southern USA states throughout May and June. The tour begins this Friday, May 15 May in Glendale, Arizona.

DEVOLVED drummer John Sankey was a member of an early version of DIVINE HERESY and co-wrote some of the material on the band's "Bleed The Fifth" album before being forced to leave the project and go back to Australia due to visa issues.

DEVOLVED's latest album, "Technologies", was supposed to be made available in the U.S. last year via KillZone Records, but the release was apparently scrapped.

Originally from Australia, the band conquered its homeland in almost next to no time after forming in Queensland in 1997. Since DEVOLVED's first release, a four-track demo called "Truth", the band gained exposure and captured the imagination of fans in their home country that would take many top level bands years to work at.
