DEVOLVED To Record 'Automation 002' EP For Australian Market

March 15, 2005

Drummer John Sankey and guitarist Brett Noordin of Australian tech-metallers DEVOLVED have posted the following update on their official web site:

"Hey all!!! John and Brett from DEVOLVED here with an update for all you guys.

"We know it's been a while since we filled everyone in on what's happening in the DEVOLVED camp. Let us firstly say we definitely have not been laying low, in fact since we completed the very successful Australian 'Calculated' tour late last year things have been extremely hectic for us!

"We are very pleased to announce over the last few weeks we have remixed the 'Calculated' album at Yarrow studios and returned last week from remastering the entire album. After being unsatisfied with the production quality of the initial 'Calculated' release in Australia (due to record company and studio deadlines beyond our control),we are now extremely pleased with the final product. The updated version of the album is being pressed shortly and will replace the current version on the store shelves throughout the country from then on.

"For all the fans who have already purchased the CD, you will be able to post the album to our management and they will send back a copy of the updated CD immediately at no charge (only postal costs will apply). Management will post more details and information about that on here shortly. We have also been busy in the U.S.A. with our lawyers finalising nogotiations for the release of 'Calculated' worldwide. Things are looking very promising and interest in the album from various labels has been totally overwhelming. We have also been spending time setting up camp in Los Angeles where we are now going to be based. At the moment we are back in Australia, and before we return to America, we have decided to record the 'Automation 002' EP, which will be exclusive to the Australian market. The EP will basically contain rare material, including two very early DEVOLVED tracks the two of us wrote when we first started the band in 1997, and three cover songs from some of our favourite artists. There will once again be a CD-ROM component with live footage from the recent tour, interviews, the 'Vex' film clip and various other media.

"Many of you have been asking about the 'Vex' film clip. The video was filmed some time ago now and basically required some final edits and format changes before its release to the Internet and television. Unfortunately, the company who handles all of the bands artwork and media went through major changes which meant the clip was abruptly put on hold. It has been very frustrating for both us and our label but we have always been very happy with the previous work this particular company has done for DEVOLVED and wanted stay loyal and wait until they could complete it rather than take it elsewhere. We have been guaranteed it 'will' be finished within the next week or so and we will post it on this website immediately for you all.

"Aside from all this we have also been working on various side projects and have begun writing new DEVOLVED material, which is sounding killer!

"We will continue to keep you guys updated as regularly as we can. in the meantime we will be busy working on much more chaotic metal for you all!!!"
