DIETH Parts Ways With Ex-MEGADETH Bassist DAVID ELLEFSON, Announces New Lineup

DIETH has signed with Fireflash Records, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the band. Alongside the new record deal, the band has unveiled its new lineup, welcoming Swedish bassist Tobias Cristiansson, who is known for his work with GRAVE, NECROPHOBIC and DISMEMBER. The new lineup comes as DIETH prepares to launch the next era of the band with new music, a new video, and their second studio album.

DIETH vocalist and guitarist Guilherme Miranda comments on the new record deal: "This feels like the right home for us, as they share our vision of where we can take the band. We've poured our heart and soul into this new music, and I honestly couldn't be more excited about what we have in store. New lineup, new music, new album — this is just the beginning."

Regarding the addition of Cristiansson as the replacement for David Ellefson (ex-MEGADETH),Miranda said: "It's a pleasure to welcome my longtime friend Tobias to DIETH. His history speaks for itself, and he fits perfectly with what we're building. I'm beyond happy and honored to have him with us for this new chapter."

The first taste of what is to come will be the single "Pound Of Flesh", one of the band's most brutal tracks to date, which will introduce this new chapter of DIETH. The song will be released alongside a video on October 16.

Miranda comments: "'Pound Of Flesh' is brutal, and that's exactly what I wanted this song to be. Musically and lyrically, it's one of my favorite things we've done. I'm very excited because it's a new chapter for DIETH. I really can't wait for you guys to hear and see what we've been working on!"

Formed in 2022 in Gdansk, Poland, DIETH released its debut album, "To Hell And Back", in 2023 through Napalm Records. That summer the band performed shows across Europe on headline and festival shows such as Graspop Metal Meeting, MotoCultor, Metal On The Hill, Vagos and as well as support slots with TESTAMENT and SEPULTURA.

The band made its North American debut as direct support for METAL ALLEGIANCE at the House Of Blues Anaheim, California in January 2024 and performed dates across Europe with KK'S PRIEST in July 2024.

DIETH's latest single, "Animal Me", came out in November 2024 across all digital platforms.
