DIMEBAG: Outtakes From ANTHRAX's 'We've Come For You All' Album Posted Online

December 8, 2006

ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"I wanted to share something with everyone at this time. It has been two years since Dime was taken away from us and wanted to remind the world that he was, is and always will be the GREATEST. I recently found some outtakes of his solos from the [ANTHRAX album] ['We've Come for You All'] record (totally forgot about these). The first is from 'Cadillac Rock Box' and I only have the one outtake. There are some embellishments that he included but didn't make the final mix. The next is from 'Strap On My Old School'. There are four different versions of the solo and here is one for you to crank and enjoy. We'll post all them in our fan club too someday. He was really happy with the one that was chosen but I think the others kicked ass as well. I just wanted to bring a bit of joy on such a dark day."

"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was co-founder and lead guitarist for the legendary heavy metal band PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, Dimebag and his brother Vinnie Paul formed DAMAGEPLAN. On Dec. 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by a deranged fan. He was 38 years old.
