DIR EN GREY Explains London Cancellation

February 1, 2009

Japanese experimental metal band DIR EN GREY has issued the following update:

"To all of our fans in London: We are incredibly sad and disappointed that [Friday] night's [January 30] show at Brixton Academy was canceled. In case you were unclear, it was due to a failure of the London electrical grid.

"In any case, the show will be rescheduled at a later date, and both DIR EN GREY and MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE apologize to all of our fans for this unavoidable inconvenience. We know that many of you traveled very, very far to see us perform in London and stood in the cold for hours to get a good spot at the front of the stage. All of the members of DIR EN GREY and MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE were very much looking forward to this show for months and are were extremely gutted not to be able to perform for our fans. Despite our best efforts, at the end of the day it was beyond our control. Our management is already working out details to bring us back to London as soon as possible to make up for this unfortunate occurrence.

"Please check back for more information and how to obtain ticket refunds on Kerrang.com from Monday, February 2. We advise all ticket holders to retain their ticket stub.

"We appreciate all of your support and very much look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can."
