DISCONVENIENCE: New Album To Feature Guest Appearance By Ex-REFUSED Frontman

June 11, 2006

Umeå, Sweden-based, female-fronted old-school punk band DISCONVENIENCE have finished recording their new album, entitled "Umeå Punk City". According to a press release, "[the LP] contains ten brilliant punk anthems combining the urgency and attack of the early British '82-style, the melodies of '77-punk and the speed and energy of the early American hardcore bands." The album also features a guest appearance on backing vocals and tambourine by Dennis Lyxzén, whom you may recognize from bands such as THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, REFUSED and FINAL EXIT.

"Umeå Punk City" will be released on LP in July 2006 by CMF/Wasted Sounds. You can pre-order the LP for 8 euros by e-mailing [email protected]. The CD version will be released later. Download the songs "Mental Meltdown" (mp3) and "I'm a Pervert" (mp3).

"Umeå Punk City" will be released on tape by the Malaysian label Cactus Records. The tape will also include the band's first EP, "War on Wankers", as a bonus. A three-week tour of Europe will follow in August.
