DISSECTION: New York City Show Cancelled
July 24, 2006Swedish metallers DISSECTION have cancelled their previously announced September 6 gig at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. No reason was given for the decision to call off the show. It is not presently clear if the band's September 1 concert at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, California will be affected by the cancellation.
DISSECTION released their new album, "Reinkaos", in May on The End Records.
As previously reported, Escapi Music has set a July 28 European release date (August 1 in North America) for the new DISSECTION DVD, entitled "Rebirth of Dissection". With Jon Nödtveidt's release from an eight-year prison sentence on September 6, 2004, he recruited a completely new lineup. First to join the ranks was ex-DARK FUNERAL drummer Tomas Asklund, followed shortly by bass player Brice Leclerq (ex-NIGHTRAGE). After auditioning guitarists in the summer of 2004, ex-ABORYM member Set Teitan finally entered to complete the lineup. Embarking on a vast European march of triumph, supported by Swedish black metallers WATAIN, DISSECTION's "Rebirth of Dissection European Tour 2004" turned out to be a huge success. This DVD includes lots of extras and bonus material recorded from this tour, and shows why the band are again at the top of the black metal genre.
On June 27, 2006, DISSECTION's classic "The Somberlain" and "Storm of the Light's Bane" albums were reissued in the U.S. by The End. The remastered CDs come with multiple bonus tracks, previously unreleased material and new layouts. All three DISSECTION albums will also be released on gatefold vinyl later this summer.
