DISTURBED Frontman Posts Sonogram Photo Of Unborn Son

DEVICE and DISTURBED frontman David Draiman has posted a sonogram photo of Samuel Bear Draiman, the the unborn baby boy he and his wife, Japanese-American model, actress and wrestler Lena Yada, are expecting later this year. Draiman revealed the news of the pregnancy last Thursday (May 2) on Twitter and also let the audience know at the Revolver Golden Gods awards, where he performed LED ZEPPELIN's "Whole Lotta Love" with HALESTORM.

Draiman and Yada were married in September 2011. The Pulse Of Radio asked Draiman at the time how he thought becoming a family man might change his music. "You know, I can only imagine that it would give me more inspiration to write," he said. "I think that when you all of a sudden become a family man, and you have more to worry about than just yourself, your concerns, they build, in terms of things going on with the world, in terms of your life, in terms of your fears and your hopes and your dreams. And so I really think it'll be a tremendous catalyst for potential inspiration."

Also on Thursday night, Draiman posted a lengthy message at his Twitter account in which he reflected on the death — announced that day — of SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman and the overall spirit of the heavy metal/hard rock community.

Draiman wrote in part, "There is no room for/excuse for jealousy/contempt/hatred between those who should be supportive/caring brothers and sisters in the world of hard rock and heavy metal. In the wake of the news of the mighty Jeff Hanneman's tragic passing . . . that point became crystal clear to everyone."

He added, "We have always come together as a family in such times of sorrow and need, and if something positive can be taken from any of this, it is that we learn from that sense of community and brotherhood that was so prevalent among everyone there last night . . . Let Jeff's memory and last night's event serve as a symbol, a guiding light, a beacon, to all those who would question our love, devotion, and commitment to one another."

He concluded, "I have been, and forever shall be, a fan of, an addict of, and a champion of, all things hard rock and heavy metal."

DEVICE released its self-titled debut album on April 9. It debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard album chart, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release.

DEVICE will hit the road this summer on Gigantour 2013, along with MEGADETH, HELLYEAH, NEWSTED, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and other acts. The trek kicks off on July 3 in Gilford, New Hampshire, wrapping on August 11 in Toronto, Canada.

DISTURBED has been on hiatus since late 2011. Guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren's new band, FIGHT OR FLIGHT, will release its debut album in July.
