DISTURBED Singer: If I See FINCH Guitarist, I Will Bloody Him Again
August 17, 2005Artisan News Service is reporting that DISTURBED and FINCH brawled during last year's Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe [see previous BLABBERMOUTH.NET stories: Story#1, Story#2, Story#3, Story#4], and the bad feelings may not be over. A guitarist in FINCH said in the press that he'd injure DISTURBED frontman David Draiman, and Draiman understandably didn't take too kindly to the comments, even if they were said in jest. FINCH guitarist Chris Strohmeyer has since apologized to the band in the press for hurting their feelings, but Draiman told the Artisan News Service that he's still bothered by the comments.
"Let me tell you, no band ever got more notoriety from something than them after we kicked their ass," Draiman said. "I don't know what more to say about it. I mean you reap what you sow. You make a death threat in the press and you think it's funny to go ahead and say you're going to put a bullet in somebody's head and rip the piercings from his chin. There I was, do your damndest. And it came to a head. It festered over the course of a couple of years, we finally ended up meeting on the same stage and a war broke out."
Draiman said that he's even more bothered by FINCH painting DISTURBED as the bad guys in the fight.
"It is what it is," Draiman told the Artisan News Service. "I don't want to give them any more notoriety than they deserve from just getting a beating at our hands. They left with their tails between their legs and it's great that he's apologized since then, but if I see him again, I'm going to bloody him again. I don't forgive. They were very adamant about trying to make it like it was our fault and we instigated it and we were the bad guys and so and so forth. That they had the audacity to do that makes them deserve another beating. You want us to be the bad guy? We can be the bad guy too. I have no problem being the bad guy."
