DISTURBED: 'Ten Thousand Fists' Artwork To Be Unveiled Next Week
August 9, 2005According to MTV.com, the album art for DISTURBED's third LP, "Ten Thousand Fists", will be unveiled next week on Spawn.com. Todd McFarlane, the creator of the wildly popular comic book character Spawn, and artist Greg Capullo worked together on the album's cover.
For the LP, frontman David Draiman wanted to revive an icon from the band's first record: the demonic smiley face they've dubbed "the guy." "We wanted to have a three-dimensional embodiment of 'the guy' leading an army into battle, so to speak," Draiman said. "You see 'the guy' as a central image, and he's surrounded by thousands of people. They all have their fists raised in unison, tattered clothes, determined faces, some spots of blood here and there, as if they'd just come in from battle."
McFarlane also designed the album cover for KORN's "Follow the Leader" as well as the video for "Freak on a Leash" and PEARL JAM's "Do the Evolution".
"Ten Thousand Fists" hits stores September 20.
