DISTURBED: 'We Have Some Things Going On Internally, We Have Some Personal Things Going On'

On July 13, The Reverend Ian of the KQXR (100.3 The X Rocks) radio station in Boise, Idaho conducted an interview with DISTURBED frontman David Draiman at the Idaho Center Amphitheatre in Nampa, Idaho at the fourth stop of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

When asked about DISTURBED's plans for a sixth "Music For A Weapon" tour in 2012, Draiman said, "There won't be a 'Music For A Weapon' tour next year. We don't know what we're doing . . . We're not gonna do our own thing either. This is gonna be the last tour that the American people get to see us in for awhile, if not indefinitely. We have some things going on internally, we have some personal things going on. So I don't know. It's hard to tell. But I can definitely tell you there won't be a 'Weapon' around next year with us on it. If we end up keeping that brand [and possibly 'leasing' it out to other bands to use] it has kind of become its own entity, it's something we have talked about in the past, and that's possible. But you're not gonna see a DISTURBED tour for awhile."

Four days earlier, DISTURBED guitarist Dan Donegan was asked by Kevin Conklin of the 93.7 KCLB Rocks! radio station what Draiman meant when he said in previous interviews that he wasn't sure what DISTURBED's future plans were beyond the band's upcoming South American tour.

"We just haven't discussed it," Donegan said. "Right now we just don't know. At this point, we're doing this tour. We're gonna do South America for the first time like, four shows over there. And that's really all we talked about. We haven't even discussed anything after that. It's not that we're tired of it, either. We don't know what it's like to take a break. 'Cause we've been non-stop, even as a local band, before we got signed. It's really hard to say. I can't really predict, 'cause I don't know what it would be like to go home and then not plan for another tour or plan for the studio. It might be a shock to the system there 'cause it's something new for us. So, like I said, we really haven't discussed where we go from there. So we just said, 'Let's just focus on these two tours we've got coming.' And then that's it."

The DISTURBED-led Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour kicked off on Saturday (July 9) in San Bernardino, California and is launching a fundraising drive for members of the U.S. military. When you text "Metal of Honor" to 41518, you will donate five dollars to military veterans, active members and their families through the Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) organization. Thirty pairs of tickets will also be made available to members of the armed forces at each stop on the tour.

IAVA will also have a "Metal of Honor" tent on the trek, where members of the military can visit and get chances to meet the bands on the bill.

Draiman recorded a PSA to explain and promote the campaign. Draiman has told The Pulse Of Radio in the past that DISTURBED is always 100 percent behind America's armed forces. "We need to support our troops and love our troops and do everything we can," he said. "In fact, any chance that we as DISTURBED have to perform for the troops, give them a little bit of encouragement, strength, build their hope, I would do in a heartbeat."

The Mayhem tour, which also features GODSMACK, TRIVIUM, MACHINE HEAD, IN FLAMES and more, stops on Friday (July 15) in Phoenix, Arizona and has shows booked into mid-August.
