Just a few days after winning a Literary Achievement Award from Spike TV, Ozzy Osbourne has expanded his writing career and landed a gig as a health columnist for England's Sunday Times. Yes, that's right — the man who put his own body through hell for decades with drugs and alcohol will now be giving health tips on a weekly basis.

Ozzy said in his first column, "When the Sunday Times magazine asked me to be its new health-advice columnist — Dr. Ozzy, as I'll be known from now on — I thought they were (joking),to be honest with you. But then I thought about it for a while, and it makes perfect sense . . . If people can learn from my stupid mistakes without having to repeat any of them, or if they can take some comfort from the crazy things my family has been through over the years, or if just hearing me talk about colonoscopies makes them less embarrassed about getting tested for colon cancer, that's more than enough for me."

The now clean and sober Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio that despite everything he's done to himself over the years, he's in good shape these days. "I went to my doctor a while ago and he says to me, 'Your liver's perfect, your blood's perfect, your heart's perfect, your kidneys are perfect...' he said. "He says to me, 'You know what? You're a testament to what the human body can take.' You know, Keith Richards, he smokes, he drinks vodka like there's no tomorrow, he used to do heroin, you know, I don't know how that guy's sucking in air."

Ozzy added in his first column at the Times, "By all accounts, I'm a medical miracle. When I die, I should donate my body to the Natural History Museum."

He also wrote, "It's all very well going on a bender for a couple of days -- but mine went on for 40 years. At one point, I was knocking back four bottles of cognac a day, blacking out, coming to again, and carrying on. While filming 'The Osbournes', I was shoving 42 types of prescription medication down my neck, morning, noon and night."

Ozzy was given a Literary Achievement Award last weekend at Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards for his memoir, "I Am Ozzy".

The singer's new album, "Scream", arrives on June 22.
