DOPE Part Ways With Bassist, Announce Temporary Replacement

January 7, 2004

DOPE bassist Sloane "Mosey" Jentry has left the band only five days before the start of the group's eight-week national tour, according to a posting on the band's official web site. "[Mosey] has decided to retire from the music business in search of a more normal, stable life in conjunction with his fiery, monogamous romance with a lovely girl that he coincidentally met while on tour (all you ladies who sucked, fucked or just did coke with him over the last year or so, don't call the DOPE house anymore… he doesn't live here).

"Adrian of POWERMAN 5000 will be joining Edsel [Dope, vocals], Virus [guitarist] and Racci [Shay, drums] on the upcoming DOPE tour. A permanent replacement with be named at a later date.

"To all DOPE fans, expect the same kick-ass, in-your-face DOPE shows that we've always delivered through thick and thin, since 1998."

According to EdselDope.com, Sloane "Mosey" Jentry "joined DOPE as their guitarist on 11/14/97 and played with them during their first few club shows in NYC. He left the band before the release of 'Felons And Revolutionaries' due to personal problems but still remained best friends with Edsel while DOPE continued on without him. When the bassist position became available he rejoined DOPE on 12/10/00."
