DORO PESCH Kicks Off 30th-Anniversary Celebration At WACKEN OPEN AIR

August 9, 2013

German metal queen Doro Pesch kicked off her 30th-aniversary celebration on Friday, August 2 at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany. Joining Doro on stage at the event were Phil Campbell (MOTÖRHEAD),Biff Byford (SAXON),Eric Fish (SUBWAY TO SALLY),Uli Jon Roth (ex-SCORPIONS) and Chris Boltendahl (GRAVE DIGGER).

But Wacken was only the beginning. "I want to celebrate this big anniversary all year long with my fans around the world," says Doro, who will embark on an enxtensive European tour in October. "We are in the midst of planning special shows in London, Paris and New York."

The crowning highlight of Doro's 30th-anniversary tour, however, will be two back-to-back shows in her hometown of Düsseldorf.

"We are playing two anniversary shows, on May 2nd and 3rd," Doro says. "The first night will be classic with an orchestra — as the fans got to know and love it ten years ago through the 'Classic Diamonds' tour. And the second night there will be a full-power rock show with all highlights from 30 years of Doro and several special guests [including BLIND GUARDIAN singer Hansi Kürsch], who accompanied me in the course of my career."

"The venue will also be very special for those shows. [For the ] first time ever, we get to play at the town hall of CCD Düsseldorf, because it fits the 30th-anniversary project perfectly."
