DOTMA, ODD DIMENSION Albums To Be Made Available In North America In March

January 6, 2011

Scarlet Records has announced its second set of releases in the North American market. DOTMA's "Sleep Paralyses" and ODD DIMENSION's "Symmetrical" will be made available on March 22, 2011.

DOTMA was formed in 2005 in the small city of Hyvinkää, Finland, by guitarist and keyboardist Harri Koskela. From the very beginning it was clear that the band was something more than the usual "dungeons-and-dragons" act. It was a musical revolution. Fantasy brought to life. The group doesn't just express the agony, pain and beauty in its lyrics but also in the music, which is veiled with ghostly, yet beautiful charismatic singing, orchestral elements and deep synths... sadness and hope unite.

DOTMA stepped into the studio in 2007 for the very first time, and that's where it all turned around. The band had changed; they had grown and written amazing new songs, ready to earn their place in the music world. They started recording their first album in December 2009 at Rockstar Productions, in Hyvinkää, Finland, with the help of sound engineer Lari Takala. The CD was mastered in May 2010 at renowned Cutting Room Studios, Sweden, with Björn Engelmann.

On this spectacular debut release they had the chance to collaborate with various guest musicians such as Vladimir Lumi (ex-THAUROROD),Ines Lukkanen (EMBASSY OF SILENCE),Lasse Nyman (THAUROROD) and Tero Kalliomäki (EMBASSY OF SILENCE, SAATTUE). And let's not forget DOTMA's own Johanna Lesonen's outstanding vocal performance, which makes the band's music a truly overwhelming experience.

"The human and musical path which drove us to the realization of this album is fully reflected in the sound mix which characterizes our songs", says ODD DIMENSION about "Symmetrical", the band's forthcoming debut album. The CD is made up of seven tracks that represent, even on a textual level, a sound path which originates from very intense atmospheres and flows that then follow into a milder end: a journey amid lights and shadows, good and evil, past and present all transfigured within a relationship of a father and his son, lead by a narrator into the interior journey within themselves.

The journey of these six exceptional musicians started in 2001 with their introduction in the metal scene, which they've explored in its entirety, from classical death metal to the progressive genre and everything in between.

"Mixing all those musical influences wasn't easy in the beginning", states Gigi Andreone, bass player, referring to his first sessions with Federico Pennazzato (drums),Gianmaria Saddi (guitars) and Antonio Agate (keyboards),"but with the arrival of Manuel Candiotto (vocals) everything really started to fall into place."

The band's first EP, "A New Dimension", came out in 2005 and it was very well received by critics. It was followed by an exciting and intense period of touring. Soon after the release of the EP, ODD DIMENSION was joined by keyboardist Gabriele Ciaccia and together they began working on their first full-length album.

Recorded and produced by Gianmaria and Gigi in the band's own studio, "Symmetrical" was mixed at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey, U.K. by THRESHOLD's guitarist Karl Groom (renowned for his work with bands like YES and DRAGONFORCE) and mastered in Milan, Italy by Alberto Cutolo at Massive Art Studios. The artwork was done by Brazilian artist Gustavo Sazes at Abstrata Art (MANOWAR, KAMELOT, ANGRA, LAUREN HARRIS, ARCH ENEMY).
