DOUR CURSIVA Signs With HOLD TRUE RECORDINGS
October 12, 2007East Bay, Rhode Island-based metal band DOUR CURSIVA has inked a deal with Hold True Recordings for the release of its debut full-length album, "Voices through Wires". The 35-minute CD was recorded at Echo Room Productions in Uxbridge, Massachusetts and features "eight brain-crushing tunes which showcase a wide range of influences and experiences." A late 2007 release is expected.
According to the group's official bio, DOUR CURSIVA "is a metal band with hardcore roots from Providence, Rhode Island that takes aim at blending many influences, moods, and styles while attempting to maintain a wavelength compositional approach embracing a mixed bag of melodies, dissonances, polyrhythms, and drones. Deriving their name from the English word dour, meaning severe or harsh, and the Latin word cursiva, meaning written script, the band explores some of the more traumatic elements of the human experience in their writing. The band consists of a core of musicians who have been playing both together and separately in a wide range of bands for the past eight years and strive to blend all influences, ideas, and talents into one coherent, in-depth musical experience."
