DOWN Drummer To Guest On North Carolina's WSFM 98.3 FM
September 3, 2009DOWN drummer Jimmy Bower will be interviewed today (Thursday, September 3) at 2:15 p.m. EST on the Wilmington, North Carolina radio station WSFM 98.3 FM.
You can listen to the program live via the Internet at www.surf983.com.
As previously reported, DOWN bassist Rex Brown is sitting out the band's entire North American tour in order "to address some personal issues," according to a statement the former PANTERA musician released last month.
In an August 15 interview with "The Moshpit" show on Southern California's 96.7 KCAL FM, DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo stated about Brown's absence from the tour, "He's been putting off a lot. He's got two kids, he's got a family. I guess, call it the economy, if you want. He needed to sit out this run and take care of some family business."
DOWN tapped Danny Theriot of Metairie, Louisiana to fill in on bass for the group's North American trek, which kicked off on August 3 at Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Kansas.
Theriot was in a band called VICTORIAN BLITZ in the mid-to-late '80s with DOWN guitarist Kirk Windstein. Although the group reportedly started out by playing original material, they eventually began including more covers in their set from such acts as IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and METALLICA.
DOWN is scheduled to return to the studio before the end of the year to begin writing what will eventually become the band's fourth album, tentatively due in early 2010.
