DOWN's KIRK WINDSTEIN On New Album: 'This Ain't No Computerized, Polished Nu-Metal CD'

June 20, 2007

DOWN guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR) has offered more information on the recording process for the group's third full-length album, tentatively titled "Down III". Producer Warren Riker (CROWBAR, SUBLIME) is helming the effort, for which the band had reportedly composed more than 18 tracks.

Said Windstein: "We record tunes on two-inch tape and then drop them to ProTools. The mixing process is a lot easier with automation. But believe me, we jam our balls off on every tune. This ain't no computerized, polished nu-metal CD. This is the real deal!!"

DOWN's lineup is completed by CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist),bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA),and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA).

DOWN recently inked a new North American record deal with the Independent Label Group (ILG),which is composed of Warner Music Group Corp.'s Asylum Records, East West Records and Cordless Recordings.
