February 28, 2011

Swedish symphonic power metallers DRAGONLAND have inked a deal with Germany's AFM Records.

Commented the band: "We in the DRAGONLAND camp are very excited to bring everyone the news that we have signed with AFM Records! These guys are experts in dealing with our genre, and we are looking forward to a long cooperation with them! It also means that things regarding the new album will start to move on quite quickly from here, so stay tuned for a release date and much more soon!"

Songtitles set to appear on the new album incude "The Tempest", "A Stranger I Know", "The Shadow Of The Mithril Mountains" and "A Thousand Towers White". The CD promises to be the band's most elaborated, most epic and most melodic effort so far, combining everything you know from the previous albums and taking you back to where it all began. A tentative August release is expected.

DRAGONLAND's fourth album, "Astronomy", was released in November 2006 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Starfall" was recorded at Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, HAMMERFALL, DIMMU BORGIR) in Gothenburg with producer Fredrik Nordström. The cover artwork for the CD was created by art wizard Niklas Sundin, who had previously worked with ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES, and DARK TRANQUILLITY, among others.
