DREAM THEATER Confirmed For Holland's ARROW ROCK FESTIVAL

January 19, 2005

DREAM THEATER have been confirmed for the Arrow Rock Festival, set to take place June 11 in Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands. Also scheduled to perform at the festival are KANSAS, MEAT LOAF, STYX and LITTLE RIVER BAND. More information is available at www.arrowrockfestival.nl.

DREAM THEATER are currently recording the follow-up to 2003's "Train of Thought", tentatively due in the summer.

In a recent interview with Metal Edge magazine, DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy spoke about what fans can expect to hear on the forthcoming CD.

"We have a direction," he said. "Whether or not achieve it, you know, that's our mission. We'll see in the next four months. It's premature now to see exactly where we're going. The only thing I can say is that we will purposely and consciously not make another 'Train of Thought'. That's the only thing we do know, is that we don't ever want to repeat ourselves. Each of our last studio albums have kind of served a purpose. 'Train of Thought' was an all-out aggressive, heavy album from top to bottom. The one before that, 'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence', was all about experimentation and excess. Before that, 'Scenes from a Memory' was a concept album. So that's the only thing that we know for sure right now, is that it won't be another 'Train of Thought'. It will probably have dark and heavy moments, but we're going to try to go some place entirely new."

(Thanks: Remco)
