DREAM THEATER Guitarist Interviewed For iGuitar Magazine (Video)

Andy James of iGuitar magazine conducted an interview with guitarist John Petrucci of progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER on July 27 at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, England. You can now watch a clip from the chat below. The full 27-minute interview is available at this location.

DREAM THEATER's new album, "A Dramatic Turn Of Events", sold 36,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 8. The band's previous CD, 2009's "Black Clouds & Silver Linings", opened with 40,000 units to land at No. 6. This was roughly in line with the first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "Systematic Chaos", which shifted 36,000 copies in 2007 to enter the chart at No. 19. 2005's "Octavarium" premiered with 27,000 copies to debut at No. 36.

"Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory" is a concept album that deals with the story of a man named Nicholas and the discovery of his past life, which involves love, murder, and infidelity as Victoria Page. It was recorded at BearTracks Studios in New York, where the band had previously recorded their second studio album, "Images And Words" (1992) and the EP "A Change Of Seasons" (1995). The album is the sequel to "Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle And The Sleeper", a song previously featured on "Images And Words". It was also the first album to feature Jordan Rudess on keyboards, and was the last album for which bassist John Myung wrote lyrics until the 2011 album "A Dramatic Turn Of Events".
