DREAM THEATER: No Guest Appearances By Former Members At Radio City Music Hall Gig
January 18, 2006Despite rumors to the contrary, DREAM THEATER will NOT be joined by any of the group's former members during the final show of their 20th Anniversary Tour 2005/2006, which is scheduled to take place Saturday, April 1 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Commented DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy: "[Former DREAM THEATER keyboardist] Kevin Moore has (once again) passed on my invitation to join us at Radio City Music Hall.... so just to not get people's hopes up with their predictions, I can officially confirm there will NOT be any ex-DREAM THEATER members joining us on stage that evening... It will however, still be VERY special!"
DREAM THEATER's show at Radio City Music Hall will be recorded and filmed for an upcoming 20th anniversary DVD and CD release.
In continuation of their tradition of covering a classic album in its entirety at any two-night stands in the same city, DREAM THEATER recently performed DEEP PURPLE's "Made in Japan" at two shows in Japan (January 13 in Tokyo and January 15 in Osaka).
In previous two-night stands, DREAM THEATER have performed METALLICA's "Master of Puppets", IRON MAIDEN's "The Number of the Beast" and PINK FLOYD's "Dark Side of the Moon". The METALLICA and IRON MAIDEN sets are currently available at www.ytsejamrecords.com and the PINK FLOYD and DEEP PURPLE sets are coming soon.
DREAM THEATER are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "Octavarium", which came out in June 2005.
