DREAM THEATER: Video Interview With JOHN PETRUCCI

July 27, 2012

DarkScene.at conducted an interview with guitarist John Petrucci of progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER before the band's February 18, 2012 concert at Gasometer in Vienna, Austria. You can now watch the chat below.

"Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory", the 1999 album by DREAM THEATER, has landed the #1 position in RollingStone.com's readers' poll for "Your Favorite Prog Rock Albums Of All Time." The band's fifth studio release, "Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory" is a concept album about the story of a man named Nicholas and the discovery of his past life. It was created as a sequel to their song "Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle And The Sleeper" off DREAM THEATER's 1992 album "Images And Words". In 2011 DREAM THEATER was also voted #2 in RollingStone.com's readers' poll in the category of "The Top 10 Metal Bands Of All Time" and #10 for "The Best Prog Rock Bands Of All Time."

"All of us in DREAM THEATER are so grateful to our fans for their incredible support in voting our album 'Metropolis Pt. 2 Scenes From A Memory' as the No. 1 album in Rolling Stone's poll for 'Your Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time,'" DREAM THEATER says. "The kind of support we have around the world is absolutely amazing and inspires us to keep making the best music that we possibly can for all of you!"

RollingStone.com noted, "If we had kept in all the DREAM THEATER albums, 'Images And Words' would be number two, and 'Awake', 'Octavarium' and 'Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence' would also be listed here. Lumping them all into this top spot was the only way to handle the flood of DREAM THEATER votes."

As previously reported, DREAM THEATER's August 19 and August 20 concerts at Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina will be professionally filmed and recorded for the band's next live DVD, to be released sometime next year.
