DROWNING POOL To Play All-New Material At 'Secret' Hometown Gig

July 13, 2006

DROWNING POOL will play a very special show on Friday, July 21 at the Curtain Club in Dallas. The band's official announcement reads as follows:

"We have a very special treat for you. On Friday, July 21st, DROWNING POOL is going to showcase ALL their new songs at the Curtain Club in Dallas!! The Curtain Club is rather small and the sound can't be beat! This is the club where DROWNING POOL got their start and is an all time favorite. It is only fair that Ryan [McCombs, new DROWNING POOL singer] get to experience a full-blown Curtain Club rock show!

"As of now, only this DROWNING POOL mailing list, their street team and myspace friends know about this show. This show will be listed in the paper under the name 'DRUNKEN FOOLS' so please don't let that confuse you. Word will certainly get out but this email is your chance to get tickets before they sell out.

"Tickets are available at Frontgate Tickets by clicking here. Tickets are only $16.66 for ages 17 and up (under 21 will be charged $3 extra at the door — club policy).

"If you plan to travel for this show, here are some hotel suggestions in the area:

Holiday Inn Aristocrat (800) 469-6130
Magnolia (214) 915-6500
La Quinta (214) 821-4220
Days Inn (214) 827-6080
Adam's Mark (214) 922-8000

"The band is very excited to perform these new songs live and want to make sure their biggest fans are there to see them. We hope you make it."

Also performing at the show are DOWNLO, IN VAIN and SUICIDE HOOK.

DROWNING POOL recently parted ways with Wind-Up Records after releasing two albums through the label, each featuring a different lead singer: 2001's "Sinner" and 2004's "Desensitized".

DROWNING POOL's original vocalist, Dave Williams, was found dead on the band's tour bus in August of 2002 while the group was on the road with that summer's Ozzfest. An autopsy revealed that Williams died from cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle disease for which he was never diagnosed. His successor, Jason "Gong" Jones, lasted less than two years before he left the band and was replaced by former SOIL frontman Ryan McCombs.
