Drummer ADRIAN ERLANDSSON To Miss PARADISE LOST Shows
June 8, 2012British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST have issued the following update:
"Due to diary clashes, we are sorry to say Adrian Erlandsson [drums] won't be playing with the band when they appear at Costa De Fuego on the 20th July, and also Wacken [Open Air] on the 4th August. However, we didn't want to let anyone down, so we are pleased to welcome back the lovely Jeff Singer as special guest drummer for both these shows!!"
Commented Singer: "Really looking forward to getting back in the driving seat with my PARADISE LOST pals for a couple of shows. I was really pleased to be asked and am currently removing the cobwebs before winding the shit out of [Nick] Holmes [vocals] for a couple of weeks. Bring on the inconvenient flights and expensive airport food. I can't wait. The 'Moanometer' is being charged. See you on the road!"
PARADISE LOST's new album, "Tragic Idol", sold around 900 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 32 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
Released on April 24 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records, "Tragic Idol" was recorded in part at The Chapel studios in Lincolnshire, England and features cover art by by Parisian designer Valnoir, who has previously worked with MORBID ANGEL, LAIBACH, ULVER and WATAIN, among others.
