Dutch Metal Veterans THRENODY Release New Album
October 3, 2005Dutch metal band THRENODY will release their long-awaited fourth album, "Control", this month via Redrum Recordz. A record-release party is scheduled for October 7 at the Nighttown in Rotterdam. Support at the show will come from DOMINATOR.
Formed in 1988, THRENODY released their debut album, "As the Heavens Fall", in 1993 and followed it up with live appearances with SEPULTURA, DEATH and PARADISE LOST, among others. The group's video for "Dare Restrain", taken from their second album, "Bewildering Thoughts" (1995),was in regular rotation on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball". After a few lineup changes, THRENODY issued their third album, simply entitled "Threnody", in 1997.
According to a press release, "Control" is "packed with catchy leads, heavy riffs, pounding drums and liquid bass sounds. 'Control' is about losing, having and gaining control and being controlled."
