ENEMY SOIL: 'Casualties Of Progress' EP To Get Reissue Treatment

May 14, 2008

Relapse Records has set a May 27 North American (June 2 international) release date for the reissue of the "Casualties Of Progress" EP from Northern Virginia's ENEMY SOIL. The EP, which was previously available on vinyl only, has been remastered and features the original artwork along with liner notes from ENEMY SOIL's Richard Johnson and AGOROPHOBIC NOSEBLEED's Jay Randall. The reissue also features rare bonus tracks, including three previously unreleased ENEMY SOIL tracks as well as a cover of NAPALM DEATH's "Unchallenged Hate".

ENEMY SOIL's Johnson recently commented on the reissue: "Working on the reissue of the 'Casualties Of Progress' 7" with Relapse brings back fond memories of all the support they put behind ENEMY SOIL in the '90s. And here it is finally back in print, on CD for the first time, with bonus tracks to boot. Even the original artwork graces the sleeve."

"When I first heard the recording again after Scott Hull was finished with his remaster, I was taken aback at how youthful and primitive it sounded," Johnson added. "'Casualties of Progress' is one of the records that ENEMY SOIL is most identified with, and I'm bloody chuffed that ENEMY SOIL fans that missed out on it the first time around, or want to hear it again in this new form, have a chance to do so, over a decade after the original release."
