ENGEL Recording New Material

September 4, 2006

ENGEL — the new Gothenburg, Sweden-based quintet featuring guitarists Marcus Sunesson (ex-THE CROWN) and Niclas Engelin (PASSENGER, ex-GARDENIAN, IN FLAMES),drummer Mojjo (RELEVANT FEW, DRACENA),vocalist Mangan Klavborn, and bassist Michael Håkansson (ex-EVERGREY) — has posted the following message on its official web site:

"We are in the midst of a very interesting recording session. Very interesting in this case means = the songs being recorded will absolutely blow your f-ing minds away. You've heard QUEENSRŸCHE? You've heard SATYRICON? You've heard APOCALYPTICA? Then you all know that mixing strawberry ice cream with barbecue is da bomb. I know it's been said before, most likely by me — but… my God, what an insanely good band I'm in. You'll probably get to hear the tracks sometime in the future, but since we are so secretive about much of the stuff we're up to, you'll probably not know which tracks are which anyways.

"AND — for all you male fans, who just won't admit being a bit attracted to one or two of us, you now have your shot. ENGEL will be featured in the Nocturnal Models Agency 2007 calendar!! If you've already started humming NEIL SEDAKA tunes, I'm way ahead of you. Anyways — the calendar will include lots of beautiful girls and lots of cool dudes. I know you'll buy it for the dudes. Pre-order the calendar in the shop-section at www.nocturnalmodels.com! Go get! Fetch!"

Two previously unreleased tracks from ENGEL have been posted online at GarageBand.com. Check out the songs "Weak" and "Fearless" at this location.

Håkansson played his first gig with ENGEL at the Uxfest 2006 festival on August 6 at the Carling Academy Islington in England.
