ENTRANCEMPERIUM Becomes EMPYREUS

November 9, 2009

Kenosha, Wisconsin black metal band ENTRANCEMPERIUM has issued the following update:

"The days of ENTRANCEMPERIUM are over! We chose that name just for the sake of having a moniker to work under, and it served us well.

"We did not forsee all of the negative attention that the former name would bring. We just wanted to get the name thing out of the way and start working on music. Thus, we chose ENTRANCEMPERIUM. Now with almost a completely new lineup except for myself (Arioch),and Mael, we've decided that it is an opprotune time to shed the name we feared was holding us back.

"We have chosen EMPYREUS as our new name. Empyreus is the medieval latin word for empyrean.

"We will have new artwork in the next week or two, we will announce the artist we have chosen at that time."

EMPYREUS recently announced the addition of drummer G. Reymond and guitarist Ibliss (PSYCHOBLISS, MORIBOUND) to the group's ranks. Krystofer of WITHERING SOUL has also been enlisted as the session keyboardist for live performances.

Inspired by Scandinavian black/death metal, Arioch and Mael founded EMPYREUS under its previous moniker in the spring of 2004 to create black metal of the highest caliber.
