EPICA Joined By AMANDA SOMERVILLE At Italy's ROCKIN' FIELD FESTIVAL; Video Available

Vocalist Amanda Somerville made a special guest appearance on stage with Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA on July 26, 2008 at the Rockin' Field Festival in Milan, Italy. Watch footage of the performance below (courtesy of Italian news blog Musica Metal).

Amanda Somerville is the American singer-songwriter and vocal coach who was recently tapped to replace EPICA vocalist Simone Simons on the band's North American tour with SYMPHONY X due to Simons' ongoing health issues.

A Michigan native, Amanda has resided and worked mainly in Germany and the Netherlands since 1999. She has collaborated with several bands in the metal scene (EDGUY, AFTER FOREVER, EPICA, KAMELOT, etc.) along with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro, and co-wrote the rock opera "Aina". Her own music is of the pop-rock genre and she is currently focusing on her solo career.

EPICA took part in a special concert dubbed "Classical Conspiracy" on June 14 at the Miskolc International Opera Festival in Hungary. The band performed a 45-minute set of metal adaptations of classical songs and movie soundtracks, accompanied by the orchestra and choir as well as symphonic versions of its own songs (including a few orchestral songs from singles and "The Score", which have never been played live before).
