EPICA: Video Footage Of 'Retrospect' Anniversary Performance
April 5, 2013On March 23, Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers EPICA celebrated their 10th anniversary with a special performance titled "Retrospect". Joining them on stage was a 70-piece symphonic orchestra and choir, making it the band's most ambitious project ever. People from over 45 countries attended the show, which was also broadcast live online in HD quality via LiveMusicStage.
"Everything we have done and achieved in these last 10 years [came] together on the 23rd of March," said EPICA guitarist Mark Jansen. "With a big orchestra, our music comes to life exactly the way it's meant to be. Very rarely can we realize all of it and that makes it so special."
Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
EPICA's fifth full-length album, "Requiem For The Indifferent", sold 4,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 104 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"Requiem For The Indifferent" was released on March 9, 2012 in Europe and four days later in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Gate Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany under the watchful eye of Sascha Paeth.
