EVANESCENCE Debuts New Lineup At ROCK ON THE RANGE; Photos Available

Photos of EVANESCENCE making its live debut with new members Will Hunt (drums) and Troy McLawhorn (guitar) this past Saturday (May 19) at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio have been posted online at this location. A low-quality, fan-filmed video clip of the band performing the song "Bring Me to Life" at Rock on the Range is available at YouTube.

EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee recently posted a message at the band's official message board in which she addresses the latest turnover in the group's lineup, as well as her recent marriage. Lee began with the latter, writing, "First of all, and most importantly, I am now officially Mrs. Amy Hartzler! Josh and I are married, and it is the most incredible thing to happen in my life so far. We just got back from our beautiful, remote honeymoon two days ago, and unfortunately discovered the fact that I was unable to defend myself for a week and was taken advantage of quite a bit."

Lee next addressed the exits of drummer Rocky Gray and guitarist John LeCompt earlier in the month, saying that both "were very vocal about the fact that they didn't really care about EVANESCENCE at all and just stayed around for the money. I knowingly let this negative energy grow within my band for a very long time because I was afraid of the appearance of falling apart when in reality trying to hold on to these guys is what was holding us back. I treated both John and Rocky with nothing but kindness and respect, and I got nothing but jealousy and resentment in return."

Lee called both musicians "miserable," stating that they "are no longer playing with us because I love this band too much to see it driven into the ground."

The singer also added that Gray did not quit the band, as he has said online. She wrote that Gray planned to leave without notifying Lee or the band's management, but crew members alerted them in time for the group to find another drummer. Lee fired LeCompt after that, according to her post.
