Tickets will be available for pre-sale through EvClub (EVANESCENCE's official fan club) starting today (Wednesday, October 21) at noon EDT until 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 22. They will be available to everyone starting Friday at noon.
EVANESCENCE has scheduled a one-off appearance at the Maquinária festival in São Paulo, Brazil in November. The group is headlining one of the nights at the two-day event (Nov. 7-8),which will feature additional performances by FAITH NO MORE, JANE'S ADDICTION and DEFTONES, among others.
EVANESCENCE singer and sole original member Amy Lee recently posted a lengthy update online in which she talked about the new music she is writing and whether or not EVANESCENCE is actually still a band. Lee wrote that she is working on new songs "almost every day," adding, "I don't want to give away too much about what it will sound like, because so much will change before the end, but it's... not what you would expect. It's definitely not happy married music, but it's not like I'm dying the whole time either. It's dark, sarcastic, fun, strange, familiar and very different at the same time. It makes me feel alive and I wish I could show you right now."
Lee was married in May 2007 to New York therapist Josh Hartzler.
As for whether EVANESCENCE is still a band and not just Lee after years of changing lineups, the vocalist wrote, "From day one it has been a collaborative effort and different people have contributed over the years. But it is more than just people. It's something that has taken on its own life, it has grown, changed and become more interesting, more soulful, more honest than a perfect image will allow . . . That is my band. And against all obstacles, I'm sticking to it."
The last EVANESCENCE album, "The Open Door", came out in late 2006.
Meanwhile, WE ARE THE FALLEN, featuring three original members of EVANESCENCE and "American Idol" runner-up Carly Smithson on vocals, is said to be shopping around its debut album to record labels. The group held a press conference and gave its first live performance last June in Los Angeles.
