EWIGKEIT: New Song Posted Online
January 29, 2007U.K. left-field experimetalists EWIGKEIT have uploaded a demo mix of a new track, "Identity Theft", at their MySpace page. EWIGKEIT mainman and self-styled activist James Fogarty says, "I got this leaflet through the door from the Home Office about the need to protect my identity from thieves. The thing is, it's so obviously another ploy to get us all to accept the introduction of the biometric national identity card.
"I can't think of one reason why the government and it's interconnected agencies would want our D.N.A profiles. It's all a bit sinister — what's next, 'soylent green?'
The government are doing all they can to force this national database on us — and the debate will really be heating up in the near future. It's as close to the dystopian vision described in Orwell's '1984' as we have got yet. With highly-publicised / organised 'terror alerts' occuring here, there and everywhere, they are herding us like sheep to the slaughter. I wish people would start to wake up before it's too late and they having a fucking chip in their arm and a swastika tatooed on their forehead."
EWIGKEIT's last record was the epic conspiracy-themed concept album "Conspiritus" (released on Earache Records). Since then, EWIGKEIT has recorded a rare live performance in a "nuclear bunker," burnt all record contracts and (more recently) started to give away the entire back-catalogue free of charge via the new home, www.deathtomusic.com.
"Identity Theft" will be featured on the next (as-yet-untitled) EWIGKEIT album, which will be released exclusively via Death To Music Productions sometime in 2007.
