Ex-BLACK SABBATH Singer TONY MARTIN To Guest On New BLACK WIDOW Album?

February 26, 2009

Former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin has reportedly expressed interest in guesting on the new album from classic U.K. progressive rockers BLACK WIDOW. The LP's working title is "Sleeping With Demons", but it is not sure if this will be the title of the final product.

The voice that breathed new life into BLACK SABBATH from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1993 to 1997, Tony worked intensively alongside Tony Iommi, Cozy Powell, Geezer Butler, Neil Murray and many other legends. Other musicians he has worked with include Brian May, Laurie Cottle, Nigel Glockler, Mario Parga and Zac Starkey. Tony's voice has been featured on 26 albums and he has fronted six major world tours.

Tony now fronts his own band and his new album, "Book Of Shadows", will be produced by Tom Galley. Tony himself calls his new material "the best I've done."

The new BLACK WIDOW album was written mostly by Clive Jones and Geoff Griffith, with keyboardist Paolo "Apollo" Negri (from the Italian hard rock band WICKED MINDS) adding his huge talents to the band's music. One of the songs has lyrics written by Sylvie M. Durette.

BLACK WIDOW is hoping to have its Isle Of Wight 1970 festival performance released as a DVD one day because the archive Beat Club 1970 DVD release, "Demons Of The Night Gather To See" (Mystic Records),has been "a big success."
