Ex-RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Singer ZACK DE LA ROCHA Missing In Action

May 15, 2004

Former RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE frontman Zack de la Rocha's long-promised debut solo album appears to be in limbo, according to project collaborator DJ Shadow. "After our session . . . Zack was supposed to finish the rest of the album with another producer," Shadow explains in a post on his official web site. "He apparently never showed up to those sessions . . . Why? No one seems to know."

As previously reported, De La Rocha spent several years working on the much-anticipated solo album that is expected to surface through the Epic label. The singer, who left RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE in October 2000, has been collaborating with a number of artists on various songs that are set to surface on the upcoming CD, including those with NINE INCH NAILS' Trent Reznor, ROOTS' ?uestlove, THE GORILLAZ's Dan the Automator, and CYPRESS HILL's DJ Muggs.
