EXCITER Bassist Reveals Tentative Track Listing For 'Thrash Speed Burn'

April 15, 2007

MetalDogma.com recently conducted an interview with EXCITER bassist Robert "Clammy" Cohen. A couple of excerpts follow:

MetalDogma.com: So EXCITER just got done going through a pretty drastic change again with the departure of singer Joseph Paul Jacques Belanger. This isn't the first time that he has left the band. Was he asked to leave the band or was this something that he decided to do on his own?

Robert "Clammy" Cohen: The parting of ways mutual. There is no ill-will on either side. We just didn't see eye to eye on a number of important issues.

MetalDogma.com: With this being the second time that he has left the band, did you see this coming? Were there signs that made you think that he was going to be departing again?

Robert "Clammy" Cohen: Actually, this is the third time Jacques has split with the band. Personally, I didn't see it coming.

MetalDogma.com: Let's talk about the band's new singer, Kenny "Metal Mouth" Winter. How did you come to find him?

Robert "Clammy" Cohen: When we put out the word that we were looking for a new singer, Kenny was one of the guys that got in touch with us.

MetalDogma.com: Can you tell us about the first meeting or the first rehearsal with "Metal Mouth"?

Robert "Clammy" Cohen: The first thing Kenny did when he entered the room was crack a joke. All of us hit it off right away. Then we jammed and he really blew us away with his singing. We're really looking forward to playing live and recording with him!!

MetalDogma.com: Of course, the band is working on the much anticipated new album! Can you tell us something about the new album (album title, songs, etc)?

Robert "Clammy" Cohen: The title of new disc will be "Thrash Speed Burn". We have 10 new barn-burning tunes ready to go. The track listing (in no particular order) is:

Thrash Speed Burn
In Mortal Fear
Crucifixion
Evil Omen
Rot The Devil King
Massacre Mountain
Hangman
Demon's Gate
The Punisher
Betrayal

MetalDogma.com: How did the recording of the album go with the new frontman? Were there any things that the band did different this time around?

Robert "Clammy" Cohen: With the departure of Jacques, our recording schedule got pushed back. We have also recently parted ways with Osmose Productions, so we haven't actually recorded the CD yet. We're hoping to get that done within the next few months and have the CD out before the end of the year.
