EYEHATEGOD's JIMMY BOWER To Sit Out Tour; BRIAN PATTON Steps Back In

August 29, 2019

EYEHATEGOD guitarist Jimmy Bower will sit out the band's upcoming tour in order to undergo surgery on his right arm. Replacing him on the trek will be EYEHATEGOD's former guitarist Brian Patton.

Bower announced his absence from the EYEHATEGOD tour in a Facebook post three days ago. He added that he also needs "a break from the road."

EYEHATEGOD addressed Bower's status in a statement on the band's Facebook page. The group wrote: "EYEHATEGOD cannot be stopped! In accordance with the chaotic lifestyle that is every day reality, EHG will continue to tour the USA while Jimmy Bower seeks help for visions unknown. We are happy to have back with us replacing him for this tour, our original second guitarist Brian Patton!! Brian also of 90's prolific outfits SOILENT GREEN & OUTLAW ORDER has agreed to join us back to make this trek which includes Muddy Roots festival in Tennessee and Scorched Tundra fest in Chicago… We are very excited and ready to DESTROY"

Patton left EYEHATEGOD in July 2018. At the time, he issued a statement calling his exit from the band "one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make." He explained that touring and being away from his family started to get harder after his daughter was born. "Then soon after the arrival of my son, I left for a six-week tour," he said. "While I was away, both kids had some serious health scares. Being away from my family while that happened, along with an increasingly busy tour schedule, I decided the best thing for me was to step down. To concrete this decision, after a visit with my wife's parents earlier this year, it became clear that my in-laws' health was rapidly fading and they needed our help. So my family and I have moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to care for them full time."

EYEHATEGOD's last album, a self-titled affair, came out in 2014. It arrived a decade and a half after its predecessor, 2000's "Confederacy Of Ruined Lives".
