FACE DOWN: PAIN Gig Cancelled

February 4, 2005

FACE DOWN's previously announced Feb. 12 concert with PAIN at Klubb Kaliber in Mariestad, Sweden has been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances," according to a posting on the group's web site.

As previously reported, FACE DOWN will be performing at Kolingsborg in Stockholm on April 1. Support at the show will come from GENERAL SURGERY and CONSTRUCDEAD.

FACE DOWN recently uploaded full-length MP3s of three songs they recorded last year at the Offbeat Studio in Stockholm. Available for download are two brand new tracks ("Strife" and "My Sacrifice") as well as a reworking of an old unreleased song, now known as "Heretic". Check out the songs at this location.

Joining former THE HAUNTED singer Marco Aro in the new lineup are original members, bassist Joakim (Harju) Hedestedt (ex-CONSTRUCDEAD) and guitarist Joacim Carlsson (GENERAL SURGERY),plus new drummer Erik Thyselius (CONSTRUCDEAD, TERROR 2000).

FACE DOWN's forthcoming album, due later in the year through Sweden's Black Lodge Records, will feature brand new material, as well as reworked versions of some unreleased old tracks.

FACE DOWN have been confirmed for the 2005 edition of the 2000 Decibel Festival, set to take place on May 21 in Bengtsfors, Sweden (180 km north of Gothenburg).
